Nothing beats walking into a house and smelling fresh baked cookies, homemade pie or smells of the waves rushing onto the shore. It’s gives you that warm feeling of being at Gramma’s house during the holiday’s or playing on the beach as a kid. Good smells trigger good memories, and put your walk-thrus in a positive mood while meandering through your listings. Many times, great conversation can be struck up by talking about the smell of the house and it leaves lasting impressions! You get to know your customers more, and if they end up buying the house… you know just what to get them for a housewarming! When people drive away from your open house, they might be talking about how great your listing smelled. Maybe they’ll even smell something like that again, and it will trigger them back to walking through that listing and your name will pop up in their head.Goodies: Rarely does someone pass up a cookie, and the more likely the chance they’re going to remember you just for that one reason! Wrap each cookie in colorful plastic wrap with a ribbon tied around it. Hole-punch your business card and tie it on the ribbon. This does several things for you.

1.) Keeps the crumbles from falling on your clients freshly shampooed carpets!

2.) People remember you when they are sitting in their car and eating their delicious cookie

3.) They see your name in front of their face again and take your business card with them!

I’m 24. I’ve never bought a house, I’m not quite ready. But you can guarantee I’ve done my homework and I already know what agents I will work with when I am ready to buy. I have several friends, the same age as me, who have owned 2 or more homes; and I can guarantee you they aren’t staying put for long. They started out single with a home, now married with a new home, now have 2 kids and are in a need of some more space. How would you like to be their agent? At least two transactions in the past 5 years? You can’t complain about that! If you do a good job, you can bet they will tell everyone they know about you - and friends listen. If they know someone has done a good job for a friend, and it will save them time looking around for another trustworthy agent, you can bet you’ll be at the top of their list. Now how can you get a hold of us?

We’ve all seen Infomercials… and yes, sometimes even fallen for them. Was it the “OOOOOOOO”, the “AHHHHHHH” or the screetching excitement from the lady in the background (who sounded more like she won a million dollars than just saving 5 minutes of scrubbing time on her 8-year olds playground stains), followed by an overbearing applause from the audience. As I sit here thinking to myself “this is so stupid, who is God’s name would watch these corny shows?” You know there is a guy behind the camera holding up cue cards. “GASP”, “CLAP”. Suddenly, my phone rings, I snap out of it and realize I’ve been watching the darn thing for the last 15 minutes! Two weeks later I’m at the store buying this magic stick stain eraser I saw on tv because I spilled wine on my shirt at the company Christmas party. Well… I guess it worked for me!
